Even if you can’t knit or crochet, you can still help! Getting hand knits to Kazakhstan is very expensive. We are in need of funds to ship items to Akkol.  Currently, the most inexpensive option is to hand carry the items.  We have come up with many ways you can help.

Make a Donation Through Paypal

    Monetary donations are used to defray shipping costs.  We are currently also collecting donations to buy a heavy warm blanket for each of the children who aged out of the orphanage in 2007 and for those who will age out in 2008.  When making a donation, please note whether you would like your donation to be placed in the shipping fund or blanket fund. Blankets cost $25 each and will be purchased in Kazakhstan.  Thank you!

    Use www.goodsearch.com whenever you do an internet search and earn money for Mittens for Akkol with every search. This fundraiser for M4A is sponsored by Adopt A Miracle, so you will enter that name as the cause name.  All money raised will be donated to M4A by Adopt A Miracle, the international adoption agency that helped the M4A founders adopt their children.

Sponsor a Casual Friday or Bake Sale at Your Workplace

    Sponsoring a Casual Friday or holding a Bake Sale are two of the simplest ways to help Mittens for Akkol.   Employees make a $1 to $5 donation in exchange for the opportunity to dress casually on a Friday.  Everyone is always hungry at the office. Recruit a few friends to help bake and hold a bake sale at the office. OR do both!  Contact us at MittensForAkkol@aol.com for flyers.

Donate Airfare Using Your Frequent Flyer Miles

    Donating miles can be very expensive.  For instance, Delta charges the donor $.01 for each mile donated, so a 50,000 mile donation would cost the donor $500! A much more efficient way to donate airfare is to donate a roundtrip ticket. The only fee is a small processing fee (less than $100) which we will be happy to pay.  If you would like to donate miles, contact us at MittensForAkkol@aol.com.

    Mittens for Akkol has partnered with several online shops and programs.  For every dollar you spend online, we receive a percentage of the sale. We suggest you save this page as a shortcut on your desktop (right click on this page and then click on “Create Shortcut”) and use it as the portal to your shopping on the internet. We have partnered with the best stores on the web.  The igive.com website is a clearing house of over 680 online stores that have agreed to pay a percentage to our cause everytime you shop.  Most online shops can be found there. One exception is Amazon.com, so we have partnered with Amazon as well. We also are affiliates of Wendi, a great hypnosis/self help website. Raise Money At No Cost When You Shop for Groceries

    The Kroger Company owns several grocery store chains, convenience stores and even jewelry stores all over the US.  They support Mittens for Akkol through their Gift Card Fundraiser.  Kroger Gift Cards can be used at any of their grocery chains, convenience stores or jewelry shops.
